  Our second stay at Silver Fern and again we have no complaints (other than we had to leave!). A real home from home. Absolutely adore this cottage - everything you could possibly need and the location is fabulous - plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants on the square all within walking distance and best of all The Shawl mere footsteps away with the most spectacular views. Great local store a few steps away with everything you could need. Forgot our dog’s bowls and were delighted to find food and water bowls under the sink - great! Would move into this cottage tomorrow if I could! Sympathetically decorated - homely, cosy. Everything you need is there. We’re not usually ones to return, as we like to try different places, but this cottage is a real treasure, hence our second visit and we hope to come back again. Loads to do in the surrounding areas and plenty of choices for eating out in Leyburn. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.

  Absolutely stunning cottage.

  Beautifully furnished, very comfortable, warm & cosy. Lovely comfortable bed with quality bedding. Fab bathroom with a good size bath and powerful overhead shower. There is a good size oven and ample pots & pans for cooking with. Washing machine which we didn’t need to use but good to see one there. Great secure garden for the dog and a hot tub that we didn’t get to use as it was a tad cold outside! The cottage and garden were immaculately clean and very welcoming. Lots of nice goodies on a welcome tray, even some treats for the dog which was a lovely touch. This was really appreciated. Paul the owner stopped by on our first day to introduce himself & check everything was OK for us. This place was a real home from home and we didn’t want to leave. Already booked a return visit, hopefully the weather will be kinder and we’ll get to try the hot tub!

  The Nook is a beautiful well appointed cottage.

  It has everything you would want with the hot tub being a real bonus. The welcome basket was much appreciated including the dog treats. The cottage is very comfortable and it has a lovely small garden which our dog loved. It was a nice touch that the owner popped over to make sure everything was alright. It is located in a great position to get to anywhere in the area. We went to the nearby pub, which is not noisy, and found the regulars very friendly. If you are 6ft tall, take note of the mind your head signs. It took me a while. The only thing missing, and it might be that I just didn't see it, was an information folder telling what goes in what bin and what to do with towels and bed linen when leaving, maybe information on restaurants/takeaways and directions to nearby walks or parks. Very minor and I would highly recommend The Nook for anyone coming to the area

  We enjoyed our stay at this very well equipped cottage.

  Lovely area, fabulous dining pub next door and really friendly local people. The cottage was very old and dated as noted by other guests who had stayed there. It would have been nice to have doors on the cupboards in the kitchen and have the microwave and fridge in the kitchen instead of the pantry, the bathroom taps were very quirky and had to be turned many times before the water came out and the heating didn't come on when it was supposed to. However it is an old characterful property with lots of space, in a fabulous location with a cosy log burner and lots of logs and none of the above quirky things were a great problem for us and we would be happy to stay there again.   What a lovely little find “The Nook” was.

  It had everything we needed for a fabulous weekend away. So cosy and plenty of walks from the front door with our dog Riley although Scarborough and Bemton Cliffs are not far away. Just a tip take some bird seed for the birds which there is a variety. Also the garden was fully enclosed so didn’t have to worry about the Riley the dog exploring whilst we were in the hot tub. Don’t let the pub next door put you off no noise what so ever & Paul the owner was very accommodating but not intrusive. Wouldn’t hesitate coming back to “The “Nook in the summer months so we could sit outside in the garden with a drink.
