Your dog will love a cottage holiday in Bradford
Fancy exploring the heart of industrial England? Our dog-friendly holiday cottages in Bradford offer more than you might think. As a UNESCO city of film, and birthplace of David Hockney, Bradford has a rich cultural heritage as well as an impressive cathedral and an enviable position just half an hour from the Yorkshire Dales.
The city centre is pedestrianised, so you and your dog can stroll without worrying about cars. There are some quirky spots to eat too, like the Record Café, that promises a tempting mix of ales, vinyl and sausages…what more could you or your dog want?
Dog-friendly things to do
Ramble the rail trail
The Great Northern Railway Trail is around half an hour from Bradford by road or rail. It’s a smashing three-mile walk that takes in views of the impressive Cullingworth and Hewenden Viaducts.
Bingley Five Rise Lock is an engineering marvel. The Grade I-listed structure dates from 1774 and is the steepest lock staircase in the country. You might struggle to impress your dog with these facts, but they’ll be more than impressed with the two- mile walk past all kinds of interesting things to explore, including the odd squirrel. Five Rise Locks Café is a perfect spot for you and your pooch to grab an ice-cream or a bowl of water.
