  We had a fantastic stay.

  The Byre is really well equipped and spotless. We forgot tea towels but they was provided, the welcome pack was great and lemon drizzle cake was best I’ve ever tasted. There were also an iron and ironing board and hair dryer. As it was a smart TV we also enjoyed Netflix, it really is furnished and decorated to a excellent specification. We didn’t cook any evening meals or Sunday lunch, as we went to the Red Lion every evening to something to eat (0.7mile), however the dishwasher did come in very useful for breakfast dishes. The views out from the bedrooms and living room are lovely across Green fields, and no one looking in, we just watched the birds, pheasants, owl, and falcon was seen, there is a blue-tit nesting in the bird box so we enjoyed watching it fly in/out so close. The location was perfect for us was we go walking and birdwatching regular so it was ideal location for Middleton Lakes, Carsington water and the Attenborough nature reserve, we also visited 1 National Trust house, sadly as November, most places were closed for winter. Lastly, it was so clear at night the stars was so visible. Overall, it was a hone from home and we will definitely return (hopefully in summer) when there are more places open to visit.   Lovely 3 days away at the Byre.

  We were warmly greeted by the hosts Brian and Julie and luggage the dog. The accommodation is in a beautiful setting with amazing views and spectacular sunsets. It is well placed as a base for exploring the surrounding area. Probably the best accommodation we have stayed in recently and will definitely look to rebook in the future. The enclosed front garden was a good place to relax for both us and our dog, who especially enjoyed exercising on the adjacent paddock. The Red Lion pub is a short walk away and has a nice outdoor seating area serving delicious food . We bought some beautiful flowers from Angela who has a honesty box at the end of the drive. Please believe the 5 star reviews you won't be disappointed

  We had a fantastic stay at The Byre.

  It was perfect for a family with two small children. The accommodation is all on one level, with off road parking, the option of turning the king size bed into two singles (which was already done for our arrival) and plenty of board games. It was spotlessly clean, beds were extremely comfortable and it had everything we needed. Angela the owner was on hand if we needed anything. The Byre is located in a beautiful peaceful setting with lots of off road parking. After a long journey it was also really nice to arrive to tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and a very tasty lemon drizzle cake.

  The cottage and surroundings were lovely.

  The cottage was clean and tidy. The dog was very welcome and loved the field. The chicken was a hit with the children, especially when they were able to collect eggs. The owners were lovely and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of space for parking. It was lacking some basics, which would have been useful. For example, spare batteries, toilet role, Tupperware, enough cups/cutlery/glasses/crockery for 6 people (both cottages), sellotape, first aid kit, safety pins, sewing kit and different sized pots for the oven.

  Lovely weeks stay here with my Husband and dog.

  Cottage was perfect, had all we needed. Kitchen had all we needed to cook each night. Cosy and comfy bedrooms, living/dining room on the smaller side but for just us was perfect and added to the charm. Enclosed garden to the front of the cottage, great for my German Shepherd. Spotlessly clean throughout. Owners very helpful throughout the stay, luggage their dog was great. The surrounding views were beautiful. Lots of places to visit out and about, Cottage is a great base. Cannot fault it. Thank you for a lovely stay.
