  We have just spent five nights in this beautiful cottage and were very honoured to be the first official guests . Communication prior to checking in was excellent and on arrival we had a lovely personal greeting and were shown around by our host . There was a generous welcome pack with fresh bread, butter, milk,wine and chocolates , and also a useful doggie hamper which was thoughtfully put together .The cottage is recently renovated to a very high standard with high quality fittings and tasteful furnishings throughout, it was also spotlessly clean. There is a good range of kitchen equipment and lots of thoughtful little extras that proved useful during our stay . The outside area provides a relaxing space with views of the surrounding countryside and will be even more delightful in the Summer. The hot tub was super for relaxing in after long walks. The cottage is very well located for exploring both the coast and inland, with lots of local attractions and beauty spots to choose from. The local beach is a couple of miles away and delightful and there are a variety of pubs and shops within easy walking distance in the village. It should be noted that although the hosts live next door , the cottage is very private both inside and out and they are very friendly and respectful and leave you in quiet enjoyment of the accommodation. We would not hesitate to book this excellent cottage again and will be recommending it to family and friends .

  I believe we were the first to stay at this barn conversion. The quality and workmanship is exceptional. The interior design has been carefully considered, is well laid out and beautifully decorated. Extras include, instant boiling water tap, keyless door entry, large smart TV, excellent WiFi, a Bluetooth speaker and much more. The kitchen is very well equipped and left us wanting for nothing. The owners generously provided, a bottle of wine and a cream tea, which was appreciated. The exterior has a seating area with BBQ and the lawned area, is secure, so ideal if you have a dog. Location is peaceful, whilst being in easy reach of Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. One slight downside, the accommodation is only accessible by a very narrow lane, with few passing places and 3/4 mile long. We had some tricky manoeuvres, but don't let that put you off, this conversion is a gem and well worth the effort.

  We have an amazing stay at Westfield Retreat. We felt welcomed from the initial call, tour of the place promptly when we arrived and the little extras Angela and Rob had, including a kit for our dogs which meant we barely needed to bring anything for the dogs. We had complete privacy and the time and date for checking the hot tub was clear from the beginning so this continued throughout our time away. It was a 10 minute drive to filey which we did regularly throughout our time away for walks on the beach and of course great fish and chips! Wonderful stay - would recommend to anyone! Ps the garden is a sun trap so if you drop on with the weather you won’t need to leave.

  We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage! It's in such a peaceful setting, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cottage itself is beautifully equipped with everything you need, and we really appreciated the thoughtful amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable - my husband mentioned it every day! The bathroom was top-notch. Everything was spotless and well-organised. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs, giving them a safe space to roam, and we even enjoyed sitting outside at the lovely outdoor table in March! Parking was easy, making the whole experience even more stress-free. We’d love to return!

  We loved this cottage. The level of workmanship was excellent. The quality and detail of equipment provided and all the other little touches were so good. Your own parking which wasn’t shared, the door lock system, the outdoor seating and hose pipe to wash off boots. Enough plates and cutlery to fill the dishwasher. 2 sofas with lights. The list goes on!. The attention to detail was second to none. The cottage was down a long quiet lane, and is quite isolated, so maybe not for everyone, but for us that was absolutely perfect and so very peaceful! We both agree this is the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in
