What our customers say about their holidays

Woodpecker is in a great location with peaceful surroundings and a fantastic rural view. The short walk down and around the lake was a hit with the kids. We were met with sunshine, showers and heavy wind at some points (March), but that didnât stop us from firing up the hot tub (allow plenty of time for this) and jumping in it when the wind had died down and the sun came out, perfect! The honesty shop is fabulous for recharging the lanterns supplied and picking up any additional fire lighting equipment, candles, not to mention the games, books and even a fridge with designated shelf for each tent. With it being a March booking, we made use of the winter blankets and hot water bottles (very thankful for these!), also thankful for the unlimited logs to keep the log burner topped up. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, washing up liquid, hand soap and even kitchen roll. The gas stove was very handy for cooking (as well as on top of the stove), and boiling the kettle. We were very impressed with the toilet flush, lots of power considering it was in the middle of a field and the showers were also sufficient. The site manager was very attentive and was on hand if and when needed. I would definitely recommend this holiday to others and would love to stay again. Thank you Glamping Hideaways!

The location is excellent, very good internet signal, spotlessly clean, great view from the bay window, very good kitchen with everything you need.
Very nice modern bathrooms with good hot water and shower pressure.Nice dining table and chairs in the bay window. Very good TV. Nice decor. Comfortable beds. Easy parking at the back and you can see you car from a small bedroom window. Shared laundry room on the ground floor worked perfectly. Nice landing / public areas. Only one sofa where all other apartments have 2. The 'missing' sofa has 2 very uncomfortable waiting room style bucket chairs instead, which means if you are in a group of more than 2 there is no where comfortable for everyone to sit. Small bedroom issue - This is located next to the adjoining apartment living room with the TV next to the party wall. This meant that my daughter was unable to sleep in this room as the noise from the TV comes through the wall. This was such a shame. Overall a super apartment, in a great location and spotlessly clean. Message to the owner as Sykes make contact impossible: The vacuum cleaner in the cupboard is broken at the base. The latch / lock on the door to the landing needs adjusting as it can only be opened / closed by heavily pulling / pushing against it. The front door can stick on the latch (some other guests mentioned this). It only needs a spray with WD40 to fix this.

We have had another wonderful holiday at Manor Heath Apartments.
we cannot wait to re book for next year ! I canât say anything negative about this accommodation, itâs perfectly situated too. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and directly across from Peasholm Park. The apartments are absolutely beautiful, they have everything you need and the quality of furnishings are excellent. The bottle of wine was a nice touch too. Thereâs allocated parking at the rear of the accommodation in a private car park so no worries about having to find a spot being so near the beach etc. The shared laundry is on the ground floor, weâve never used it and although it was being used by others there was plenty of opportunity for us to use it if we needed. The only slight niggle I had (nothing about the accommodation) was that some of the occupants left the back door into the car park unlocked at night. Meaning anyone could walk into the property. A sign in the door clearly states to ensure door is locked at all times. We always locked our apartment door even during the day but others in the apartment might not. Every night we just used to go down last thing and lock the door. We are looking forward to returning next year, hopefully back in apartment 4.

Having stayed in many different forms of holiday accommodation over the years, we have seen many different standards.
The house while vast needs an awful lot of work doing to it to make it somewhere people would choose, especially when you consider the amount it costs for the week. Whilst some of the refurb has been done, there are many aspects that with little outlay would have made the houses unfinished appearance acceptable. Yes bed linen and towels were provided but there were no cushions to the large sofa for the back and the other two were so worn you sank into them and struggled to get out. The house was cold especially in the evening, which was due to both having windows that were broken and doors that needed repair or replacement. There were no instructions for anything in the property, and no welcome pack so the basics were unavailable such as dishcloth, dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid and bin bags. We had to assume which bin to use, as no explanation regarding general waste and recycling. Curtains did not all fit the windows and some rooms did not have any or a blind. Making privacy an issue for some of us. Overall a disappointment, and somewhere we wouldnât recommend.

Having stayed in a few similar places in the area we can say this was by far the best.
The owners provided a high quality guide of up to date information before our stay before we arrived allowing us to plan our trip and took up many of their recommendations many of which were a convenient short walk away. The house itself was as described with comfortable areas, with well designed warm and inviting rooms. The amenities had all the desired space which allowed multiple groups to enjoy their own activity without the disturbance of overlapping each other. A good example is the quiet snug well situated for reading far enough away from the music being played by the hot tub and the film being watched the Livingroom. The owners were helpful, informative and quick in response to our query making allowing you to relax. Well situated, great venue suitable for families or groups, I would highly recommend.
