What our customers say about their holidays

We had a lovely week in this very comfortable home in a beautiful little cobbled street.
Hoole has a great little deli plus everything you need on your doorstep. Chester delighted us. The dog had a choice of the back courtyard or the front lawned garden. We had comfortable beds, a homely lounge and a dining room with comfortable dining chairs. Comfort for everyone! Although there were builders working in the house next door, they were extremely considerate and friendly, did not make any noise that we heard until well after we were up and about and did not work into the evening. They did not disturb us at all. The only suggestions we could make for improvements were that although the back sitting room was completely private, we would have preferred curtains on the patio doors just to complete the homely feel and it was a shame the light didnât work in the back courtyard garden. We had no idea how to use the TV (Chromecast?) but we managed to plug the ordinary aerial back in and use it in the old-fashioned way - I guess thatâs our age! Some serving dishes and a measuring jug would also have been useful. These were minor things though, and we were very happy with our stay here.

Dearest Charles and Family, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us.
We feel truly blessed to have stayed in such a wonderful magical house. Every little thing was magic...the woodburner, the comfy beds, the sumptuous sofa!!!! The fantastic kitchen with every utensil imaginable. It couldn't have come at such a special time for us. I lived in Chester for many years and went to Chester College to study art. Many years later I finally settled in London after Uni. I came last week home to visit my family (my mum is very poorly) and its the first time I have hired a place to stay. It was such a blessing to have a place to yourself and not be a burden to the family. We completely forgot to fill in the visitor book...however I did the Sykes questionaire this morning. I would probably have filled in the whole book with how wonderful your place is. If I could buy a house right now...I would buy your house with everything in it and never leave it hahahaha. Best wishes to you and your family Charles, and thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Having spent quite a few years visiting this property, this year has been a little disheartening.
The property is clean and tidy at eye level, we just felt certain areas were being overlooked. On arrival, we were unpacking fridge items and had to clean it again as there were areas of food remaining. Our pillows in the master bedroom had no pillow protectors on them, and the duvet cover was ripped. The rug also in our bedroom has been there for years and is in need of a clean or replacement. The en-suite shower is in need of new sealant, all just looked a little tired. I spoke with Sykes regarding access to the property as Warfleet road has been closed since the 11/3/24, due to the road collapsing, no one had been told about this problem, so you have to go the long way round to enter the potteries. There has also been a lot of works vehicle near the entrance, so be careful on exiting the car park. I have taken photos if the owner wishes to see them, Iâm sure heâd appreciate some honest feedback.

What a lovely second holiday to 2 Ashby place.
The owners were extremely accommodating due to our circumstances and we really looked forward to our stay. It was clean upon arrival and the location is just perfect for us - opposite a small supermarket, a 3 minute walk into Hoole town with some charity shops, bakery, butchers etc and about a 20 minute walk into Chester or a short drive depending on how much shopping you are planning to do. Also well positioned for Cheshire Oaks. The property has tons and tons of room with a large kitchen and range style cooker, front and back gardens for doggies, two toilets, a lovely bath (I may have enjoyed 3 on our stay) and a parking space. Absolutely love this place and loved visiting in winter this time to use the log burner. We have seen improvements and changes made since our last visit and just love this place. I've already been looking at dates we might be able to go back later this year. Thank you!

8 the pottery is a wonderful appartment in an exceptional location.
The iconic building is steeped in history and ouses character. The beds are very comfortable. The whole place is decorated beautifully. Everything you may need is there for a relaxing time for all. The added bonus of parking on site is excellent as Dartmouth is a very beautiful and popular destination. There are lovely walks from the site and ofcourse you can walk into town !! Brilliant âºï¸. Personally I found the furniture not very comfortable or what to do with the big cushions. But that's probably just me. My family were happy enough. I also on a personal level think there should be another step to get into the ensuite shower. I appreciate it is probably not a problem to most but for a short person with a dodgy foot it was getting in and out. But that's just me. Overall it's a wonderful place to call your own for a while. Thank you very much.
