What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Morgan - Verified booking
The house is very well equipped and is large and airy. We visited during the hottest week of the year so far but the downstairs remained cool and we could sit comfortably in the lounge with the door to the garden open. Our puppy was free to pop in and out whenever she wanted as the lovely garden is fully enclosed. Upstairs again was large and airy and the king size bed very comfy. The fan provided was reasonably quiet and in conjunction with some open windows managed to keep the temperature down at night. Self-catering was easily achieved at the house with a very good range of kitchen equipment available, the local Aldi was excellent and provided all the groceries we needed. The location was superb being only a few minutes walk from the beach at Rest Bay. We spent most days walking in the dunes at Kenfig Nature Reserve, a ten minute drive away, or at Merthyr Mawr Nature Reserve which can be accessed from Newton Beach car park from the west or the reserve car park, a 20 minute drive to the east. Dog-friendly beaches can be reached easily from both reserves and the wildlife and flora at both are incredible. We thought the village of Nottage was lovely with three very nice pubs. Overall, it was a fabulous stay and we look forward to coming back to explore more of the area.

We have had a lovely time staying in Tegeirian , we were expecting a wet week but the weather was more than kind to us and Daisy our cockapoo loved the dog friendly beach in Newton { but we would also like to let people know that dogs are not allowed on the beach from May to the end of September on Trecco Bay and Porthcawl beach} and she also enjoyed all the attention from the local bar staff especially in The Jolly Sailor, The Ancient Briton is another lovely pub providing live music on Sunday afternoon from 4pm - 6pm it was a beautiful afternoon everyone sitting on the walls of the village green enjoying the sunshine and the live entertainment of a lovely singer called Theresa Day. The owners Stephen & Catriona are very friendly and helpful and should be proud of their spotlessly clean holiday home we can't wait to holiday here again Diolch yn fawr

We have just come back from a wonderful holiday staying in this amazing house. The house was really big and spacious. My 2 teenagers loved their rooms and Sheila, the owner was so thoughtful with all the extra bits eg. a box with forgotten items, plus milk and Welsh cakes along with 2 folders of useful information and leaflets on the local area. The house is set in a lovely area with a very short walk to the lovely Rest Bay beach, where we did paddle boarding, surfing and body boarding. Plus we hired out bikes and went for lovely coastal walks. The other end of town - all walking distance - has amusements, rides and pubs with really great singers, plus another sandy beach. There's also various pubs to walk to for meals out etc. Plenty of things to do and visit in the area also.

Hawthorne’s Really comfortable little house with everything we need. Home from home. Dinner at the Jolly Sailor was delicious. Drove to Bileh Mountain, fab view ending up in Nottage at the Farmer’s Inn. Enormous Sunday roast, loads of meat and plentiful veg. Drove to Rhosili via The Mumbles = lovely scenery, long drive but worth it. Really enjoyed a visit to Ogmore Castle, Southerndown and Cowbridge, pleasant main street. Good deal lunch at The Duke of Wellington in the main street. If you enjoy walking a visit to Margam Park is good. Good dinner at The Globe, typical pub food but was good. Staff very friendly. Spectacular castle near Trapp. Had a little rain overnight but otherwise weather excellent. A very happy holiday. Thank you Catriona & Stephen for letting us stay.

Good location for us as meeting up with family in Newton. Handy for the beach which unlike a lot is dog friendly all year round. Not far to shops like Bargain Booze, which sells frozen veg in bags the right size for the fridge freezer box, and the Co op. The Jolly Sailor Pub and the Ancient Briton pub both take dogs and you can sit on the benches or wall around the village green if your dog doesn't like being inside. The Globe Inn is also in walking distance and takes dogs in the bar area if you want a meal inside. Tegeirion has a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook but there are good take-aways in Porthcawl that will deliver. Plenty of space in the lounge with a very large T.V. and the garden is dog proof.
