Return from your days out on the Norfolk coast to luxuriate in the comfort of this single-storey barn conversion. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat, which also welcomes a canine companion, is situated at Edgefield, 3 miles from Holt and 7 miles from the beach at Salthouse. With a private garden for soaking up the summer sun and a wood burner for autumn and winter evenings, it makes a magnificent retreat at any time of year.

Wander in, slipping off your shoes in the reception hall, where there are useful laundry facilities, and amble on through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its vaulted and beamed ceiling. Pull the doors open on to the garden on warm days or fire up the wood burner when it is cold. Unpack the Norfolk produce you have bought then prepare the next snack or meal. Gather round the table to enjoy the fruits of your labour then settle down in front of the Smart TV. The accommodation also includes a WC. There are two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, and the other with an en-suite shower room and beds that can also be arranged as two singles if discussed at booking. There is also a twin room, with an en-suite shower room. Have a chilled drink out on the patio on sunny days as the BBQ heats up. Watch the children as they play games on the raised lawn. There is parking for four cars.

Plan trips into Sheringham, 8.5 miles away, to potter in the shops, dine out and take a ride along the heritage railway. Visit the National Trust’s Sheringham Park while you are here. Head to Blakeney, 8 miles away, or Morston, 9 miles from the barn, to book a boat ride out to see the colonies of seals.
