Alrewas has three dining pubs and a mix of shops and takeaways, and there are lovely country walks along the canal tow path just 100 yards from the cottage. The National Memorial Aboretum is 0.5 miles away and Lichfield is 5 miles. Drayton Manor, Twycross Zoo and Tamworth Snowdome are 12 miles away, and Calke Abbey, Shugborough and Sudbury Hall (NT) are 15 miles away. Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens and the Peak District National Park are within an hour’s drive. Shop 300 yards, pub 200 yards.

We had a lovely time staying at Swiss Cottage. It had everything we needed for our short stay. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The cottage is ideal for couples ,very cosy, comfortable and clean.Alrewas village is a lovely place, plenty of amenities, everyone is so welcoming. It is an ideal base for visiting the National Memorial Arboretum, which was the reason we chose to stay in the village. The cottage was an absolute bonus! There is a very good bus service into Lichfield and to the Arboretum if you didn't want to use your car. All in all we had a brilliant time and would definitely book again.
