Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Located in the ever popular village of Pakefield near Lowestoft, Florence Cottage is an original fisherman’s cottage, wonderfully renovated by the owners. An open plan living/dining room lends itself well to socialable evenings after a day of exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The wood burner is also an added bonus for those cooler winter evenings.
The cottage is only 500 yards from the beach, where dogs are welcome all year round, and the beach is a blend of sand dunes and wide open space. Further south, during the summer the promenade is very popular, with the Claremont Pier a big hit with little ones (and big kids!).
Lowestoft is the most easterly point in the UK and is known as the ’sunrise coast’. You are ideally located to explore the surrounding area, including Southwold, Aldeburgh, rspb Minsmere, Dunwich and Walberswick for a spot of crabbing. For those looking for fun on the water, Oulton Broad is nearby, the southern gateway to the Norfolk Broads National Park, where fishing, day boats and riverside pubs and restaurants are the usual haunts of guests to the area. Beach 500 yards. Shop and restaurant 250 yards, pub 150 yards.

Loved staying at Florence Cottage. Local amenities great and the beach being just a few minutes walk away fantastic. Lots of other places to explore and visit.

Lovely cottage .Clean everything you need .Only draw back for us was the parking .One tall slab on concrete were if you have a big car .nightmare Only suggestion do as the other cottages have done dig out and make level..wall had already been knock down i presume by another renter .But didnt take away out enjoyable time spent at a beaitiful cottage

We stayed at the cottage for a week. The location of the cottage was great as everything we wanted was nearby. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk, and there are 5 good pubs within easy walking distance. There are local convenience stores nearby with larger supermarkets a short drive away. There were numerous takeaways a short walk away.The cottage is well situated for visiting Soutwold, Aldeburgh, Norfolk Broads and Great Yarmouth.The cottage was very clean and comfortable and well equipped. On arrival a welcome pack of basic provisions had been left (milk, bread, tea, coffee, biscuits) and a bottle of wine. The owner, Mandy, was easily contactable. The oven was not working. Mandy was informed and she had the oven replaced the next day. These things happen.We would definitely stay at the cottage again if we are holidaying in the area.
