Before you even step over the threshold you have to pause for a moment to take in the stunning backdrop of the surrounding fells. This traditional stone cottage is full of character and features, with beamed ceilings and panelled walls, and is beautifully decorated. Outside there is a charming garden with seating area. The Coach House adjoins another similar property and comes with its own parking, so you can leave the car and explore one of the many walks that are available right from your doorstep. Just a few moments away is the popular village of Grasmere with everything from tea shops to fine dining, and of course the famous ‘Grasmere Ginger Bread’, or if you prefer, stay in and relax round the wood burner in the comfortable living room. Either way, you will be refreshed and ready for the next day’s adventure. Leave the car behind and head off with plentiful walks and fells right on the doorstep, yet just a few moments away is the popular village of Grasmere with everything from tea shops to fine dining, and of course the famous ‘Grasmere Ginger Bread’. Shop and pub 500 yards, restaurant 200 yards.

A warm, cosy cottage, well located for exploring the Lake District. Also dog friendly. We appreciated the dog blanket after our dog was sick on her crate blanket. There was also plenty of hot water.

Had a lovely week at this cottage. Beautifully decorated, well equipped, comfy beds. Biscuits, prosecco and dog blanket, bowl and treats were a lovely touch.The only thing we were disappointed with was 'the garden'. The garden was actually the parking for the cottage and the cottage next-door. We didn't mind it not being secure for our dog but the only place you can sit out is the raised area were the barbecue is. Apart from that, we were really enjoyed our stay.
