Very clean, good facilities. Cosy and warm. Great location with walks straight from the door and easy acces into the heart of Kirkby Stephen. Perfect for a couple or someone on their own. Parking outside of the front door was fine, best reversing in. Friendly neighbours too who were happy to stop and chat and point out the heron that comes every morning, sitting on the island looking for breakfast. All in all, I had a very stres free relaxing holiday. Thank you.

This is such a beautiful cottage in a fabulous location . Spotlessly clean, it contains everything possibly needed for a comfortable stay, and contained lovely finishing touches like mini toiletries and light up Christmas decorations which added a touch of luxury. The instructions are detailed and the owner is responsive to queries and very helpful. The underfloor heating keeps the cottage at a lovely temperature and you really can feed the ducks from the window . It is peaceful and quiet yet handily located for the town and surrounding walks. There are lots of helpful leaflets and an interesting history of the cottage and its surroundings. The town is well served with coop and spar stores, butchers, launderette , cafes and tourist shops, plus plenty of eateries and takeaways. There is also a nice farm shop and cafe about a mile away too. I arrived by train ( scenic journey ) and walked from the station ( there is a dedicated path which avoids the main road ). It takes about 45 minutes at a stroll and is a lovely walk . The train and bus services take you to many local areas of interest so it is a perfect destination to leave the car at home/ for those who don’t drive, as you don’t really need a a car if you’re fairly active. The scenery is spectacular and the paths go in all directions with the cottage as an ideal start and finish destination. The viaduct walk is highly recommended. There is a short cut into the town too if you want to nip to shops or go out to eat/collect a takeaway. This was a perfect location for a peaceful, relaxing break and I have s as ready booked to return .
