Tufton Croft is a well-regarded cottage praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, enclosed garden, and the thoughtful welcome hamper. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive with many guests enjoying the tranquility and returning for multiple visits.
The property is generally described as clean and well-presented, with several reviews highlighting its spotlessness. However, a few guests mentioned cobwebs and a greasy hairdryer, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to local attractions, with direct access to walks and a short drive to the beach. The secluded setting is appreciated, although the narrow driveway is noted by some.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. Some discomfort is mentioned due to an uncomfortable sofa and issues with hot water supply, but overall the comfort level is high.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely garden. Maintenance issues such as a leaky roof, uneven paths, and a broken porch light are concerns, alongside some comments about the need for clearer instructions for appliances.
The welcome hamper is frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, guests should be aware that such amenities, while common, may vary.
A charming, detached, weather-boarded cottage, set in a secluded location on the edge of the historic village of Wittersham, Tufton Croft is as romantic for couples as it is ideal for families and friends. Surrounded by enclosed lawned gardens, with fields and woodland beyond.
A warm welcome awaits, with a lovely entrance hall flooding the space with light from the modern roof lantern. Wander through to a spacious breakfast kitchen, with floor to ceiling glazed panels and door to the pretty terrace, garden and countryside beyond. Ideal in all seasons, the cosy sitting room, focusing around the wood burning stove, spills into another dining area for family suppers or a romantic dinner à deux! And if it's the romance of France you long for, a hop across the Channel and you're there. A single-storey dwelling with two lovely bedrooms including a king-size and a twin with the option of super-king, both having access to their own bathroom, one to the family bathroom with a free-standing bath, and the other enjoys its own wet room. A useful playroom/study provides a quiet spot to catch up on some work; or a rowdy room for the children to enjoy the Nintendo Wii!
Overlooking fields and woodland, this pretty weather-boarded cottage is peacefully situated at the end of a grassy track. Surrounded by enclosed gardens with heavily scented old roses, the terrace provides garden furniture and there is plenty of space for summer living, with room to kick a football around, along with plenty of parking.
Tucked away on the edge of the village of Wittersham, there is plenty to occupy in the area. Wine connoisseurs will delight in being just 5 minutes drive from one of England's finest vineyards, Chapel Down, where visitors can take guided tours of the vineyard and winery (including tasting of course); or even lease their own vines! Take a nostalgic steam train journey back in time on the Kent and East Sussex Railway, including a stop at Bodiam Castle, a magnificent 14th-century moated castle. Or enjoy a day at the beach and explore the golden sandy dunes of Camber Sands, less than 10 miles away. Closer to home, there are some wonderful walks straight from the cottage across the surrounding fields and orchards.
Whether you're looking for a secluded romantic bolthole or a fun packed family holiday, Tufton Croft has it all.

The cottage appears to be well kept but is in need of some TLC. Some outside maintenance required, lounge seating is past its best and uncomfortable and a larger TV would have been appreciated. In the kitchen, a four slice toaster and a steamer would have enhanced the cooking experience. Well situated for visiting many attractions.

Great week, fantastic area, great location for the cottage and it was spotlessly clean and well prepared, well equipped and there was an excellent welcome pack. However, the cottage is looking pretty tired and needs some time and money spending on it - rotten windows, scuffed and dirty decor and marked and uncomfortable furniture, although the beds were great.
