About this property

Located on the edge of the peaceful rural hamlet of Satterthwaite, this property backs onto Grizedale Forest. A tranquil haven in the heart of the Lake District, this 800-acre ancient woodland boasts fantastic footpaths, cycle paths, interesting sculptures and a Go Ape centre. Just 6 miles away, the pretty, traffic-free village of Hawkshead is home to a charming selection of independent cafes and shops. No trip to this area is complete without a visit to Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter, 5 miles away, or of course Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, 6 miles away and Coniston 10 miles away.

Inside, this period property has been tastefully modernised to provide fresh, light and airy ground floor open plan accommodation featuring exposed beams, wooden floors and elegant decor with a comfortable country feel throughout. The kitchen is fitted with an electric Belling range oven with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, Nespresso coffee pod machine, Delonghi coffee machine, Nespresso milk frother and Ninja Air Aryer. Once prepared, gather around the dining table to catch up on the day’s events before choosing between one of the two Harris Tweed sofas to relax on in front of the wood burner and TV - Sky TV linked to all streaming apps and a DVD player, or play one of the many board games provided. Upstairs are three beautiful bedrooms, the master with its metal-framed double bed and window seat, a twin also with a delightful window seat and a single bedroom with a woodland feel that’s perfect for a child. The bedrooms share a stylish family bathroom with shower over the bath.

Complimentary coffee pods, tea bags, jams and condiments.

Outside, accessed via steps on the other side of the barn, the mature garden offers plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine, from the patio with its table and chairs to the large lawn surrounded by flower beds. The garden leads down to the Force Beck, a magical spot for picnics and paddles. There is also an external barn which has been refurbished and used as a heated Bootility Room with a utility area consisting of a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and an area used as a boot room with a sofa, shoe, boot and coat racks for storing and drying all your outdoor clothing. There is parking for one car to the front of the cottage.
