Perched in the idyllic fishing village of Duncannon, County Wexford, is this fantastic, detached holiday home, Beach House. Enjoying a superb and unique location right on Duncannon’s beautiful beach with a private spiral staircase providing direct access, and stunning sea views available from the interior, Beach House is a wonderful pet-friendly choice for couples, friends and families. On the ground floor of your new home, you will find a light and airy open-plan living space with exceptional sea views, here you can rustle up your best dishes in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to enjoy at the dining table for six as you recount the day's adventures. On warmer days, why not savour your meal alfresco out on the large terrace with a backdrop of sea views, followed by a walk along the beach? After dinner, retire to the plush seating in the sitting area with a glass of wine in hand and select a much-loved film on the TV as the evening’s entertainment. Completing the ground floor is a lovely double bedroom with en-suite shower room, ideal for those with limited mobility. Head upstairs, where you can wash away the day in the well-appointed shower room, before discovering two further double bedrooms with sea views. Explore the village, where you will be spoilt for choice with the good selection of eateries on offer, including light bites and sweet treats at Wild Rose Café, traditional Irish dishes at Roches Bar and Restaurant, fresh seafood at The Strand Tavern, and stock up on essentials at the petrol station housing a convenience store. Be sure to check out the award-winning restaurant of Aldridge Lodge which is just moment’s outside of the village. Continue onto Hook Head, where you can visit Hook Lighthouse, enjoy leisurely strolls along Slade Harbour, or explore the waters depths with Hook Sub Aqua Club. Further afield, you’ll find Waterford, home to Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum, a magnificent cathedral, an excellent golf club, and two Michelin Star restaurants, Everett’s and The Old Couch House Café. For an unforgettable escape, look no further than Beach House.
Duncannon Fort, perched on a rocky promontory projecting into the channel, overlooks the lovely fishing village of Duncannon in the southwestern corner of County Wexford. The golden sand beach west of Waterford Harbour is a favourite spot for sunbathing and water sports. Every year, the town hosts its major event, the International Sand Sculpting Festival. Duncannon is a great area for a relaxing beach vacation, with a handful of taverns and eateries, as well as a playground right on the sand. You can take a ferry to the beaches and watersports of Dunmore East, browse the shops of traditional crystal in Waterford, listen to the music of the Wexford Festival Opera every October, or simply explore some of the historic houses, beautiful gardens, and lovely walks in this wonderful part of Ireland. This is an ideal vacation spot for families because of the proximity to a variety of fun activities, like fishing, golf, and horseback riding.
