Sit out in the courtyard with a refreshing cup of coffee to start your day, or if you fancy getting out and about, then you can find all that Stow-on-the-Wold has to offer on your doorstep; believed to date back to the 10th century when it was originally settled as a fortification due to its location, you can meander through the narrow streets, apparently created in this manner to control livestock sold at the regular fairs, to now find a selection of quaint shops and tearooms to sample. You will also pick up on the importance of the town during the English Civil War; enjoy a refreshing pint in historic King's Head, or a bite to eat in the Porch House.
