Honeystone Cottage is a beautiful 18th century, Cotswold stone property located in the heart of the picturesque village of Withington, close to the vibrant spa town of Cheltenham. The property is the perfect retreat for a gathering of friends or a small family who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and spend some time surrounded by stunning Countryside.
Be welcomed into the property by the well-presented, bright and airy reception hall, where you can store your coats and shoes, and be warmed by the underfloor heating that flows through the whole ground floor.
The contemporary, dual aspect room is perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds, where you can sink into the large corner sofa, pop on your favourite show on the TV or play games from the selection on offer, as the lovely woodburning stove set within a Farmington stone fireplace keeps the room warm and toasty on a cold evening.
Moving through the property, past the handy cloakroom which contains a basin and WC, and the useful utility room, you will enter into the wonderful open-plan kitchen/diner, which boasts a high vaulted ceiling with exposed painted beams and stylish pendant lighting, where you can make use of the contemporary appliances to rustle up delicious meals, whilst you uncork a bottle of wine and listen to some fun music on the Bluetooth speaker, as your party get ready to tuck into the meal at the dining table.
Continuing through the property, along the heated wooden flooring, you will find two tastefully decorated king-size bedrooms, along with a beautiful bathroom with a large bath and a large walk-in shower, perfect for an invigorating rinse down after a day of exploring!
Upstairs, the master bedroom rests in the eaves of the property, containing a king-size copper pipe frame bed, boasting a Freesat TV and en-suite bathroom with a bath and a walk-in rain shower.
The beautiful garden that wraps around the property is the perfect space to catch the afternoon sunshine, where you can relax with a glass of wine and even dine alfresco and make use of the charcoal barbecue. The garden retains an array of original features including the hayloft staircase and a pretty lamp post that has been reclaimed by nature, now home to a beautiful climbing terrace. Take a stroll beyond the trees at the end of the garden and discover a small unfenced ponds and a flowing stream sat along the boundary line.
Honeystone Cottage is situated in the peaceful and unspoilt village of Withington, where you will find an impressive 12th century parish church and a pet-friendly country pub, The Mill Inn, which sits on the banks of the River Coln and makes for a picturesque setting for a pub lunch.
The annual 2000 Trees music festival is held just north of the village and neighbouring Chedworth boasts one of the largest Roman villas in the UK, now owned by the National Trust and is a popular attraction for all ages.
Withington is surrounded by the breath-taking countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep to discover, including the Cotswold Way, which is a 100-mile trail passing through the beautiful towns and villages in the Cotswolds.
The Regency spa town of Cheltenham is nearby, known for its Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town, where you can discover fine art at The Wilson Museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.
Take a drive over to the market town of Cirencester, and make a visit to the Corinium Museum to check out the collection of locally-found Roman remains, including mosaics and sculptures, before having a leisurely stroll around Cirencester Park.
For a memorable holiday, stay at Honeystone Cottage.
