Guests say

Red Fawn Cottage is a well-furnished, cosy property in the friendly village of Blockley, offering superb views and a comfortable stay. The cottage's steep staircases are a point of concern for some, but its charm, location, and amenities like a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds are consistently praised. The garden's potential is noted, despite some maintenance issues.

The property is generally found to be immaculately clean, with only minor issues such as un-emptied bins and dirty outdoor furniture on arrival, which were quickly addressed. However, there was a mention of a dog smell in the downstairs area.

The cottage is in a great position within the village, with easy access to local amenities and the wider Cotswolds area. It offers wonderful views and is described as quiet and very convenient.

Guests find the beds super comfy and the property cosy. However, the steep stairs and heating issues have been noted as detractors from the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-appointed with necessary facilities and thoughtful touches like walking books. Some guests missed a washing machine and tea pot, and there were minor maintenance issues like loose toilet fixtures. The steep stairs and lack of handrails were repeatedly mentioned.

While guests appreciated the well-stocked kitchen with tea, coffee, and milk, there is no mention of gifts, thus a score cannot be provided. It is important to note that such thoughtful gestures, if present, are not guaranteed.

This is our 2nd visit to the property, we will visit again. We did have a slight problem with the garden, there is a large hole in the left hand side of the fence. Our dog ended up in the next door neighbours garden then the field at the back of the garden. It’s quite hard to see the hole as a tree covers it, but our small dog managed to find it.

Immaculately clean, comfortable beds. The owners clearly make a great effort to make your stay enjoyable. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and would not be suitable for people with limited mobility. But that aside, very hard to find fault.

However, I know others have mentioned it but the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep (a rail at the top would make it less dangerous perhaps) and be aware there are no bathroom facilities on the top bedroom floor. I was impressed with the comfortable beds, nice linen and pleasant furnishings and well stocked tea, coffee, milk, biscuits on arrival was welcome. Our main disappointment was how poorly the garden was maintained. There was the large bin next to the outside table (perhaps have a neat bin store?)Messy garden bags and a pot with dead plants on the patio which has seen better days. Given the spectacular view and the sun trap on the patio, with a little bit of care it could be wonderful.
