Enjoy the perfect getaway at this charming 200-year-old Cotswold stone cottage with its original features and a pretty south-west facing courtyard garden. Situated in the thriving hilltop town of Minchinhampton, an historic Cotswold market town with an award-winning pub, independent butcher, fish and chip shop, two coffee shops, post office and general store. Within walking distance of Minchinhampton Common (600 acres of National Trust common land and a Site of Special Scientific Interest).

This charming Cotswold stone cottage, elegantly furnished with a seamless blend of antique and contemporary furniture, is ideally located just a short walk from the market square in Minchinhampton. The sitting room is decorated in soft colours with an exposed stone fireplace and a cosy wood burning stove. To the rear you will find a separate dining room, with seating for four guests and a modern, light filled kitchen, well-equipped to prepare some delicious meals. Bi-folding doors lead out to a private courtyard garden oasis with plenty of garden furniture. Upstairs on the first floor you will find the double bedroom dressed in plush feather bedding with soft cloud pillows to ensure a good night's sleep; and a bathroom with a large bath and a separate shower cubicle, perfect for soaking muscles after those long walks in the Cotswold countryside. Climb a further flight of cottage stairs to the second floor and discover a cosy reading snug with vaulted ceiling and exposed timbers.

Set adjacent to Minchinhampton Common, Rock Cottage is a picture-postcard image of a quintessential, small Cotswold cottage. From its idyllic location, you are well placed to don your walking boots and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. There are plenty of well marked footpaths that will take you through the picturesque valleys or, closer by, you have Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons, with their famous golf course and grazing cattle. You will find an array of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and tourist attractions in the many Cotswold towns, including Stroud (with its highly regarded Saturday Farmers’ Market), Cirencester, Tetbury, Bath and Cheltenham. The area is also well served with a wealth of National Trust properties and gardens, along with the much-loved Westonbirt Arboretum.

    Stedet svarte absolutt til forventningene, men det er et par ting som trekker ned og det gjelder møbler. Stoler og sofa er sikkert tidsriktige, men det gjør dem ikke mer komfortable. I tillegg er de alt for lave for en eldre mann. De to barstolene på kjøkkenet ser smart ut, men jeg tror det er de verste stolene jeg har sittet på noen sinne. Hyggelig village med en med en meget trivelig pub.
