The Mill Cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped. It felt spacious and the two upstairs bedrooms were particularly large. There was everything needed in the way of kitchen equipment, and plenty of mugs! Most of the large windows look out onto the garden and the Mill next door. There are no shops within walking distance, but there are plenty of options for food shopping within a short drive. The cottage is very close to the motorway and road noise can be heard constantly. This didn’t particularly bother us as we are used to living near a road. The garden is lovely, with seating available and plenty of space but it isn’t secure to let dogs off the lead (again we knew this when booking so it wasn’t a problem). The Mill Cottage was a great base for exploring the Peak District and surrounding area.

A lovely, cosy warm cottage with a beautiful garden. We enjoyed our 4 night stay sleeping in very comfortable beds. We enjoyed exploring the local area, Hardwick Hall is a must visit as well as Bolsover Castle. Rufford Abbey Country Park is great value for money, the museum was a pleasant surprise. We loved our welcome pack from our hosts, thank you. A lovely, relaxing break for our family. Would highly recommend.
