Excellent cottage for heatwave as is cool especially the lounge and downstairs bedroom. Would recommend that a grab handle be fixed in upstairs bathroom to allow less agile guests to get out of shower safely. Also a salad spinner would be useful. I left two paperbacks for guest use and suggest that a few simple games would be a good addition. Scrabble always popular and dominos.

A lovely clean and roomy cottage, with comfy beds and plenty of outdoor seating. A lovely welcome pack awaited us too, a nice touch. Loads of crockery and cutlery, nice big table, and lovely range for cooking. We had a full week of hot weather, (very lucky) and the cottage mostly stayed cool, upstairs got quite warm though for night time. There are some nice walks from the door. We walked along to Hardwick Estate, lovely walk around the gardens and visited the house. Also up to St John's Church, visited on Saturday and had a lovely chat with the knowledgeable couple who offered, drinks and cake. Only downside was the noise from the motorway, a constant hum, but it didn't spoil our stay. We visited Sherwood Forest, Heights of Abraham and the National Tramway Museum. Shame Stainsby Mill wasn't open while we were there, we'd have loved to have a look around. Overall we had a very nice stay. Thank you to the hosts, it was nice reading about the history of the cottage too, and lovely that it's still in the same family.
