The Mill Cottage receives high praise for its spaciousness, comfort, and well-equipped interiors, making it ideal for families and groups. Guests love the beautiful garden, dog-friendly atmosphere, and proximity to Hardwick Hall and other attractions. The cottage is consistently described as clean and homely, with many appreciating the welcome packs, though these are not guaranteed. Some mention the nearby M1 motorway noise and minor maintenance issues, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience. The property is especially valued for its excellent location, ample space, and relaxing environment.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and well-maintained throughout. Only rare minor comments about garden tidiness were noted, but these did not affect the overall impression.

The location is widely praised for its proximity to Hardwick Hall, beautiful walks, and easy access to the Peak District and local attractions. While some mention motorway noise, most guests found the setting peaceful and convenient.

Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and a cosy atmosphere. The cottage is described as warm and homely, suitable for both families and groups. A few noted steep stairs and heavy duvets, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is well-equipped with a large kitchen, multiple bathrooms, and ample space. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues (e.g., slow drains, dated furniture, small fridge), but these were outweighed by the positive feedback on the range of amenities.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs and milk on arrival, though it should be noted these are not guaranteed. Suggestions for additional items (e.g., hand soap, games) were made, but overall guests felt well cared for.

Nice cottage. Beautiful location. Hardwick estate is stunning, lots of wonderful walks, through the woods, around the lakes and accross the meadows. A few bits in the cottage could do with replacing/updating. A bit dated in some areas. The garden could do with tidying up. Quite a few weeds around house. The lawn was nice and mowed though. Broken/wobbly bench and large wooden table in garden was rotting. Bedrooms lovely, nice comfy beds. Large equipt kitchen, had everything needed although an air fryer would be a great addition. Bathrooms fine. Nice quiet rural location.

Beautiful cottage inside and out. Plenty of room for a large family. Our family had a lovely week there and would definitely recommend. Excellent walks just next door on the Hardwick Hall estate.

We stayed for a long weekend so we could celebrate our Grandsons christening. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. Our other children and grandchildren thought it was brilliant. We would seriously consider this cottage for further family holidays. Our only suggestions would be summer duvets on the beds as the ones supplied were very heavy, Also a second fridge somewhere else in the property as with a party of 7 the built in one in the kitchen struggled to keep thing chilled.
