About this property

Ashbourne 5 miles. Settled into the village of Hulland Ward, near Ashbourne, Valley view is a lovely Peak District getaway for a family or friends. Enter into this lovely eighteenth century cottage and hang up your coats in the cloakroom, before unpacking into this tastefully renovated cottage. Settle down with a good book in the sitting area, where an original inglenook woodburning stove warms your feet from a bare brick fireplace. Pass the quirky bookcase door, which opens up into the under-stairs storage, and reach a beautiful dining room, retaining the original bare brick fireplace and wooden beams, now housing an electric fire stove to give your dining experience a hint of historic ambience. When mealtimes call, find yourself in a lovely spacious kitchen and with the assistance of the home-from-home amenities, cook a heart-warming meal as the handy utility takes care of all of your muddy clothes. Much of the flooring throughout the ground-floor is laminate, making this property pet-friendly, and there is also the addition of a dog washing station in the outhouse! Pets can also enjoy the enclosed lawn, whilst guests can make the most of the patio, where you can relax in the sunshine with a glass of your favourite beverage. lovely rooms and decor. Great location near numerous spots to visit: Kedleston Hall (National Trust), Carsington Water, Bakewell, Matlock and Heights of Abraham. Property is on busy road but that is clearly stated. Had a great stay with family.

Helen , the owner, a lovely lady and very helpful. Really can’t fault anything except for the weather.

  • Anthony

The owners very kindly left us a superb welcome basket which was a lovely surprise. The Cottage is in a lovely little village and is in walking distance of a small shop, farm shop, garage and pubs and is in the ideal location for a visit to Carsington Waters and Ashbourne and many other places.
