Tucked away on the south-eastern outskirts of the Peak District National Park, this traditional Derbyshire cottage is ideal for families who love the great outdoors. There are plenty of walking and cycling trails from your doorstep, or you can venture north to explore The Peaks. Located in the charming village of Crich, there is the convenience of a village pub, a shop/deli and a playground. Immerse yourselves in the tranquillity and soak up the unbridled rural views from the garden over a coffee or glass of wine.
On approaching the cottage via the steps, appreciate the pretty stone exterior, which hints at the delights within. Packed with original features, such as exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces, this property feels homely throughout, whilst neutral tones help to add a sense of light and space. The kitchen is bright and well-equipped and there’s a small dining table with seating for four. The lounge is bursting with character and offers a cosy spot for resting weary legs in front of the fire. From here, head up the open-tread staircase to the two lovely bedrooms and the family bathroom. Outside, the cottage garden is a wonderfully relaxing spot to switch off and unwind.
For a quirky day out, head to the Crich Tramway Village attraction (0.5 miles), which includes a sculpture trail. Venturing further afield, travel 6.5 miles north to Matlock and Matlock Bath where you can take the cable car to the Heights of Abraham attraction on top of Masson Hill, explore the Derwent Valley, visit Gulliver’s Kingdom or make the most of the town’s shops and eateries. You can also explore the southern Peak District from here, where limestone plateaus and ravines make up the White Peak. Popular with visitors, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are within 16 miles.
