About this property

Saddlers Cottage is a wonderful, mid-terraced cottage sitting in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. The corner plot in a row of Georgian terrace houses, Saddlers Cottage is a charming dwelling for a family of four's break near the Peak District National Park. Overnight on-street parking and day-time short stay is available adjacent to the property for you to unload your belongings with ease on arrival. As you enter the sitting room, be enveloped by the crackling flames of the woodburning stove and settle down on the stylish, velvet sofas for a well-earned moment of relaxation. When you're feeling peckish, move through the property to the kitchen/diner, where shaker-style cabinets behold a range of fantastic appliances, including a Rangemaster stove and a dishwasher. When dinner is ready, gather around the nearby dining table and tuck into a tasty dinner; why not pop open a bottle of wine and make a toast to this wonderful escape? Ascend the stairs to find two thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms, a king-size and a twin; both of the bedrooms enjoy charming furnishings and colour schemes, to make you feel at home! Freshen up for the day ahead in the family bathroom, where the rainfall shower offers a refreshing rinse, whilst the bath entices you with a relaxing soak. Get to know your surroundings by visiting Wirkworth's fantastic sights and attractions, including the Wirksworth Heritage Centre and Stoney Wood, a hiking area that is home to StarDisc, along with several independent shops boasting local wares and produce, and a fantastic array of eateries, such as The Northern Light Cinema & Bar or the renowned French bistro Le Mistral. Travel a short way north to Bolehill, where the afternoon can be spent touring the National Stone Centre, hiking the High Peak Trail or visiting the renowned hiking and walking area of Black Rocks. For even more outdoor fun, be sure to visit the Hopton Quarry Nature Reserve, where access to walks through Hopton Tunnel, the sights of Harborough Rocks and nearby woodland can be enjoyed. Matlock, Crich and Belper all rest just moments away and offer an abundance of fascinating attractions, whilst the Peak District National Park isn't far and is home to the delights of Bakewall and Hartington, to name a couple, as well as a range of outdoor activities for all ages. A delightful break with your loved ones awaits at Saddlers Cottage.

Wirksworth is a small, lovely market town on the outskirts of The Peak District, a short distance from Matlock. Wirksworth is rich of character, with numerous architecturally significant structures, especially its splendid parish church. Visitors will love visiting the Puzzle Gardens' historic "jitties" and courtyards, as well as the Heritage Centre and the wonderful surrounding landscape, which includes adjacent Carsington Water, Black Rocks, and the High Peak Trail.

Lots of thought has been put into the facilities and all of our needs were catered for. For example small but essential items such as washing machine and dishwasher tablets. The owners gave us lots of information prior to our arrival and we were pleased to receive a lovely welcome pack. The cottage is perfectly located within central Wirksworth and represented excellent value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The location is at the heart of the pretty town and close to all amenities. Plenty of walking routes and close to lots of places for days out. Will return
