  Amazingly perfect little getaway spot for a proper relaxation break.

  The perfectly positioned cute little chalet was exactly what we needed for our week away. We had just adopted a dachshund and we needed an enclosed garden and safe space, it was exactly as described in the listing. We were attracted to the property by the closeness to the beach. We could hear the sea from the bed! The chalet itself was a perfect size for two with a small dog, the kitchen area was perfectly equipped with everything we needed for self catering, the only thing missing was a small freezer but we coped with warm gin! The sofa was comfortable and we brought our own throw for the dog, the bed was very comfortable if a little snug for two and a sausage dog haha! Again we took our own bedding down to the dog bed sharing. The shower was very much a wow, lovely decor and lots of storage in the under sink vanity. Shame there wasn’t more clothes storage but we left some items in the case. The Wi-Fi was a tad temperamental to stream a film but was more than adequate for phone usage. We walked absolutely miles along both ends of the coastal path and even landed in Mablethorpe for an icecream! We will definitely be back. I’m giving this 12/10!!

  We were disappointed with the bungalow.

  The lounge and the double bedroom were lovely however the second bedroom and the bathroom were not. Unfortunately while we were away we had some very heavy rain which lasted some hours and when we looked into the second bedroom there was a lot of water on the sill and on the floor. On inspection this has obviously been a problem for some time as the sill was like paper. Thank goodness we had no one sleeping in the bedroom as this is a major concern. The bathroom was a disgrace and needed a total update. There was black mould, very stiff bath taps (which had obviously been noted before in previous reviews). no rubber bath mat provided which was dangerous when climbing into the bath when using the shower, the toilet only flushed if you held the button down (again reported in previous reviews) and holes which had been filled in where obviously things had been on the walls. The whole bathroom was shabby. The cooker in the kitchen had a faulty oven door which meant you had to bang it to make it close. Finally the decking at the back was covered in bird droppings so thankfully with the weather not being brilliant we did not attempt to use it.

  The bungalow is lovely and has everything you need - the outside space is safe and secure for furry friends and the owner supplied a lovely welcome tray with a cake and other goodies.

  The only issue we found with the house that we fed back to the owners directly was that the two sofas are uncomfortable and low down and as we travelled with elderly parents they found it difficult to sit on them and had to sit on a dining chair which isn't too relaxing all evening. I suggested a corner sofa and maybe a wingback arm chair as they would also benefit from being able to see the TV properly due to its position and maybe put the tv on the wall. These wouldn't be an issue for younger guests and people that don't wish to watch tv so it wouldn't take it away from the stay for everyone. The bathrooms are lovely and there is great access out of the back gate to the beach but also note if using a wheelchair/pushchair or motorobility scooter there are quite a few steps up to the beach and the ramp is clogged with sand( there is another ramped access further down to use )

  We realised that we were going into a quite compact accommodation but we were very impressed at the way things were laid out and there was everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxed in this tastefully decorated place.

  .The place was spotless and hygiene was up to a high standard. We were slightly concerned about storage but there was a wardrobe (plenty of coat hangers too)in the kitchen and there was extra storage under the bed and in the very clean bathroom.Private parking and a totally enclosed garden for our dog. The owners were very frendly and very helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble when dealing with one or two of our extra needs.(being older we like a teapot teapot and long handled dustpan and brush and these were delivered promptly) Access to the beach was very easy,about 10 minutes and the local Seacroft bar provided good reasonably priced meals and drinks. Thank you very much to our hosts for making our stay so enjoyable.Another very good Sykes accommodation . Jacqui and Barrie September 2023

  Very disappointed with the standard of cleanliness.

  Dust and hairs in lounge. Bathroom basin greasy and the tiles and pipework behind the toilet were disgraceful, no exaggeration. The kitchen needed most attention with the draining board, sink and worktop all in need of attention. Food stains in the fridge and the shelves, toaster had what looked to be teastains and the crumb tray looked like it hadn't been emptied since new. The waste bin appeared to have been used without a liner and spent a night in the garden with bleach and water. A truly shocking standard of cleaning. But once we'd cleaned the property to the standard it should have been on arrival (except behind the toilet), we went on to have a good week. Adequate facilities, Smart TV was a bonus, lovely garden area and good location, hence our generous 2 star rating.
