Guests say

Roundhill is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its peaceful countryside setting and thoughtful touches. Guests enjoyed the scenic location, proximity to attractions, and the generous welcome pack. The property's spaciousness, cleanliness, and views were highlights, alongside the presence of friendly horses. Some guests mentioned the beds could be firmer, but this did not detract from the overall positive experience.

Guests consistently noted the property was clean and well-maintained, with one review highlighting it as 'lovely and clean'. There were no negative comments regarding cleanliness.

The location is celebrated for its tranquillity and beautiful countryside views, with easy access to local attractions. The peacefulness and proximity to amenities were appreciated, although one guest mentioned the need to use a car for pub access.

The property is described as cosy and comfortable, with spacious rooms and a warm atmosphere. However, a minor criticism regarding the firmness of the mattresses suggests a slight deduction in the comfort score.

Facilities are highly regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen, utility room, and generous welcome pack. The property offers a full-sized bath, smart TV, and log burner, contributing to a well-facilitated experience.

The host's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests delighted by the welcome pack, which includes a homemade cake and other treats. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such offerings, though common, are not guaranteed.

We were looking for a relaxing cottage or bungalow with easy access to the Cotswolds, and this place was absolutely perfect. From here, we enjoyed scenic drives to Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm and The Dog House pub, as well as visits to Oxford, Blenheim Palace, and several charming Cotswold villages — all within about 45 to 60 minutes.Located a few miles from Banbury, the cottage is accessed via a private farm road (about half a mile long). As you approach, you're greeted by beautiful horses in the surrounding fields and pheasants near the property, which immediately sets the tone for a peaceful countryside stay.On arrival, we were welcomed with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit, a delicious homemade Victoria sponge cake (baked by the owner, who popped by to check everything was okay), chocolates, and a few useful groceries already stocked in the fridge and cupboards which supplemented the Tesco delivery we had pre-ordered.Two of the bedrooms were generously sized, and there were plenty of towels and bedding available. The bathroom offered a touch of luxury, with a full-sized bath, an overhead shower, an additional handheld shower, and a cupboard stocked with bath creams. The living room was cosy, featuring a smart TV and a log burner with views over the horse-filled field. There's a separate dining room, a utility room with a washer, and a converted garage housing a tumble dryer and recycling facilities. We brought our dog, and the property can be fully enclosed by closing the front gates — the only traffic comes from the farmhouse further down the private road. While the nearest pub is about 1.5 miles away (or a little further in the opposite direction), it's best reached by car unless you're up for a good walk. That said, the cottage is so peaceful that we preferred relaxing with a bottle of wine and spending time with the horses, who happily let us pet them once they got used to us.Our only small criticism was that the beds could use new, firmer mattresses — but that didn’t detract from a truly lovely week. We’re already looking forward to booking again.

We enjoyed our week at the bungalow, but felt it was a little misleading to say there was an enclosed garden for our dog, as the gates would have to be closed in order for it to be safe for him, he is a greyhound and I could not risk him getting out. However, I have to keep him on a lead at the moment as he had an operation on his paw, so he needed to be restricted.. We did have a lovely time.
