Freestone House is a spacious and well-equipped cottage with a family feel, offering beautiful views and a convenient pub nearby. Guests appreciate the ample space, quirky decor, and the garden area. While some guests encountered issues with maintenance and cleanliness, the property generally provides a comfortable stay for large groups.
Reviews indicate some concerns with cleanliness, including dust, dirty floors, and silverfish in showers. However, not all reviews mention cleanliness issues, suggesting experiences may vary.
The location is praised for its proximity to a lovely pub and scenic walks, with beautiful views across Ashby Hall's grounds, indicating a high level of satisfaction among guests.
The property is described as cosy and welcoming with spacious rooms, though some guests noted issues with hot water and the size of the duvets. Overall, the comfort level is deemed satisfactory.
Facilities are generally appreciated, but there are several reports of maintenance issues such as non-working TV remotes, a tumble dryer incident, and lack of hot water. The house is well-equipped for self-catering and entertainment.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the provision of standard amenities, so it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness.

A great family celebration of three birthdays in one week. Quirky house with relaxed feeling. Well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. A genuinely happy atmosphere as soon as we arrived. Everyone was blown away with what is clearly a very family oriented home. Only negatives were the size of the duvet on the superking bed and having to move a mirror closer to an electric socket for hair drying. We had an amazing time. Thank you.

Had a wonderful stay and plenty of room for our group. Rooms were comfortable and plenty of quirky features, would highly recommend. Village residents all very friendly and the pub is nice. Would be nice to have a welcome pack and a guest book but other than that great place to stay with large groups.

We had an enjoyable stay at Freestone House ….its a nice house with everything you need .. it’s a shame we couldn’t light the fire which would have been nice… the TV remotes either need new batteries or just don’t work!! Overall we would recommend it to others
