Its a great choice of accommodation all year round as you can enjoy the garden during the warmer months and settle in front of the cosy log burner during the colder times of the year.
The village boasts a cricket pitch and heavily populated duck pond. There are lovely walks straight from the front door through the village and into the countryside, and along the town path on the Oxford Canal. Local shops can be found at the nearby villages of Braunston and Dunchurch, or for a larger range of amenities, Rugby, Daventry and Southam are within a few miles drive. Draycote Reservoir is just 3 miles away and offers a lovely circular walk or cycle ride, a sailing club and fishing, it’s also a great spot for birdwatching. The town of Rugby is only 6 miles away and is now Warwickshire second largest market town boasting a variety of designer and high street shops, restaurants and pubs.
Famed for its public school, the birth of rugby football and the Frank Whittle jet engine, Rugby is also home to the green open spaces of Caldecott Park, Coombe Abbey Country Park and Brownsover Hall. It also provides trains to Leicester, Birmingham and London in around 50 minutes. A little further is the Royal town of Leamington Spa where you can visit Victoria Gardens, Warwick with is famous castle and Shakespeare’s Stratford Upon Avon.

Lily J Rose proved to be a pleasant enough holiday property in which to stay and a good base for exploring Warwickshire. However there are a couple things that need pointing out - the lane up to the house was rough with a number of potholes; the television reception kept breaking up; the WIFI connection was a little weak; there was hardly any information in the house regarding the appliances etc: and there was no visitors' book. The point of contact who lived next door was very friendly and helpful.

Peace and quiet, in fact so quiet even the mobile phone rarely worked but that was lovely. In fact we found we hardly had phone signal (O2 network) anywhere we went. That said Lily J Rose was the perfect location to get away from it all, a lovely home. There are no shops in Willoughby but the café on the main road serves a good breakfast with lovely staff. Some maps still show the pub/restaurant in Willoughby as being open but it is permanently closed. If you keep your eyes peeled you may see a grey squirrel run across the fence or come almost up to the door. The house is well appointed and we wanted for nothing. We were a party of 4 adults and and a toddler plus 2 dogs and we never felt crowded. I would recommend Lily J Rose to anyone really want to get away from the rat race and experience a village setting where people say "hello" and there is a nice duck pond yet only 10 minutes from town if you need it.September 26.
