About this property

This thoughtfully renovated detached 1920s house rests just a scenic walk from Keswick town centre in the Lake District. Enjoying stunning views from all the rear windows towards Causey Pike, Grisedale Pike and the Newlands Valley in the near distance, this beautiful home is perfect for couples or families alike looking to explore all that this picturesque area has to offer. Step into a vestibule where you can kick off your muddy boots before finding the hallway which runs from the front to the back of the house and gives access to all the downstairs rooms. Allow the chef amongst the group to take over the contemporary kitchen, ideal for preparing those home-cooked meals with help from a selection of integrated appliances, before heading into the sitting room and enjoying a leisurely afternoon. On a balmy day, throw open the patio doors to bring the outside in, with a large balcony spanning the width of the house and boasting admirable views of the garden and fells beyond. The separate snug room offers a cosy spot to break away from the group, with a plush L-shaped sofa and a Smart TV for entertainment. As you look for rest in the evening, there are three tastefully decorated bedrooms with gorgeous bed linen and en-suite facilities to ensure a convenient stay; on the ground-floor there is a king-size room with patio doors leading on to the balcony, while upstairs there are two bedrooms including a king-size to the rear with a Juliet balcony and far reaching fell views, and a twin room to the front with a small balcony and seating, perfect for sitting out on a clear morning. Continuing to impress, the stunning rear garden ties up the property perfectly, with paved and gravelled paths, an ornamental pond and wooden summerhouse with a decked area and seating, all within the breath-taking backdrop of the dramatic fells; you will find yourself returning to the tranquillity of this garden, which was previously an award-winner in the Keswick and Bloom competition. If you can tear yourself away from this splendid base, a short stroll will bring you to a selection of pubs and eateries, as well as a choice of shops, a miniature golf course, the Theatre by the Lake and the Pencil Museum to be enjoyed during your stay. Further afield attractions can be found in Ambleside and Bowness, including the iconic Windermere steamers which offers a relaxing cruise across Lake Windermere as well as a great way to get about, including visiting the southern shores of Windermere at Lakeside where the amazing Lakes Aquarium can be found, teaming with fantastic creatures to see up close! Discover exhilarating activities throughout the Lake District, with exciting activities available in the vast Grizedale Forest, here you can enjoy mountain biking through the woodland trails, take a scenic walk through the trees or head to Go Ape and embark on a treetop adventure! The Lookout provides a wonderful base, perfect for a memorable get-together in the Lakelands.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
