Guests appreciate the remote, peaceful setting of Birkerthwaire Stable, with its stunning views and proximity to nature and hiking trails. The charm and rustic appeal of the property are noted, alongside the well-equipped kitchen and the cosy atmosphere once the fire is going. Some guests experienced issues with heating and maintenance, but these did not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of their stays.
The property generally appears clean, with some guests noting it could be cleaner or better equipped for self-cleaning. There are mentions of cobwebs and the need for a working vacuum cleaner, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and suitability for walking and hiking. Its remoteness is seen as a positive aspect, although it requires careful planning regarding supplies.
The property is considered comfortable by most, with a well-equipped kitchen and good facilities. However, some guests found it cold due to issues with the heating system, which affects the comfort score.
Facilities are generally good, especially for cooking, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as problems with hot water taps and the need for additional heating. The provision of firelighters and responsiveness to issues are positive aspects.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Very remote, but that was fine for us.... I'm glad we brought our own food. The property was as described, with the exception that towels were provided (the description said they weren't...)The water was slow to run, and the hot water took a while to run hot... But, nothing unexpected for a remote location without mains water.Once we understood that the radiators needed the fireplace to be running, they were great, and when requested... additional firelighters were provided...Being a novice with a fire, it took some time to become somewhat proficient!Apart from the weather, an awesome trip.. but I can't say we weren't warned.
