I last stayed at this cottage 8 years ago. I re-booked as I knew it was perfectly located to explore the mid lakes area. It was good to find the same comfortable property as last time. The price was competitive and the house has everything you will need. The minor issues are a shower which is a tad temperamental, but ok if you take your time and the neighbours didn't leave much space to park. However my car is quite large and I squeezed it in. The village is well prepared for visitors with a choice of pubs/restaurants' and cafes. The shop has all the basics. The property is recommended and we will come back again.

Stayed here with my Mum and dog for a week. Was a perfect location for walking the Coledale Horseshoe directly from the cottage.. Many other hikes can be done from the doorstep. Keswick and all its amenities are so close. There's also a village shop/cafe right opposite the cottage which was useful. The Royal Oak pub is just 2mins walk and we spent lots of pleasant evenings there, great food too. If you're after a comfortable basic base for hiking then I would totally recommend this cottage.

Overall this cottage could do with a deep clean and some TLC. No need for grubby stained carpets and resident spiders, even found the previous occupants dirty sock behind a bedside table, easily spotted if vacuumed properly. Not very good value for money compared with other cottages we have stayed in. The only thing in its favour is the location.
