Briargarth is a delightful, detached bungalow in its own enclosed gardens on a quiet cul-de-sac, within a 5-minute walk from Keswick’s town centre. Briargarth is light and airy, and a particular feature is the private rear garden with panoramic fell views, which provides a private space in which to relax, unwind and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Situated on the fringes of the town, Briargarth has the best of both worlds, all the amenities of the town centre close at hand and fell walking opportunities from the door. Keswick, renowned for its spectacular setting and surrounded by mountains, is the perfect base from which enjoy a holiday in the northern Lakes, with many walks to suit all abilities surrounding this beautiful town. If you don’t want to venture far, stroll through the town with its many outdoor and speciality shops, friendly pubs, cafés and restaurants. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

We’ve been to this bungalow 3 times and have a 4th booked. There are however a few problems. Overall the bungalow is great but there is a problem with the fencing near the gates, panels are missing or not in great condition. We have a dog with us who could’ve escaped. We had to block the gap with another loose panel left in the garden. The cleaning could be a bit better, especially the gutters and downcomers near the back door. The door frame is also dirty, just gives a bad impression especially when you are waiting for your dog to come back in. The bungalow does however work for us and our dog and the location is great

What a find. A lovely little bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac but so close to town.We arrived from a long journey to a welcoming cozy and warm bungalow. Really surprised how quiet it is considering proximity to A66 and town centre. Weather not great to make full use of the nice garden ( some slats are missing in the gates so you need to keep an eye on your pet). Loved the bird feeders and outdoor furniture. 2 decent sized bedrooms with 1 ensuite. Both had wardrobes but double room could do with more drawers (ikea hanging ones in wardrobe would help). Owners have made best use of space in a small kitchen and have managed to squeeze in a dishwasher and washing machine in the area next to the bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped with enough room to store supplies. Nice welcome basket and enough dishwasher tablets for the week but no laundry tablets at all (not insurmountable but a couple would have been a nice touch)Additional throws and dog bowls provided along with 2 discs with property address on was really considerate. Would definitely recommend

We had a very enjoyable stay at Briargarth. The bed was very comfortable and the heating easy to work, which was great as it was very cold weather during our stay! The location is excellent- just a few minute's walk from the centre of Keswick, in a quiet cul-de-sac. The welcome pack was lovely, too. There were just a couple of things that have stopped us from giving a five-star rating: we had to clean the patio doors when we arrived because they were very dirty - lots of dog-height marks that were very visible to us immediately, so we aren't sure how the cleaning team missed them. Also, the rug in the living room was old, tatty and dirty. The final issue we had was that it clearly stated in the property description that the house would be decorated for Christmas, and it was literally the only house on the street that had no decorations! This obviously didn't ruin our stay, but it was a factor in our choice when booking, and we were disappointed on arrival because of this. Overall, a great property, but needs a more thorough clean after guests with pets.
