The garden has stunning views but the cottage lacked a personal touch and was not dog friendly despite us paying extra for our two dogs. Tried to talk to the staff at cottages.com at Keswick but found the experience unhelpful. Won’t use cottages.com again.

First visit to Cropple How and was impressed by the outstanding location. My dog loved the garden, the view was breathtaking. The cottage is comfortable and clean and has everything you need. I would change the very stained mugs as it's very off putting when you're drinking from mugs that are so heavily stained. The weather was very hot, so a sunshade outside would be a useful addition, as we had to keep escaping indoors. Other than those minor details, we were very happy overall. There are walks directly from the front door, which was great for my dog Sid, and for me as I could take a break from driving. The walk to Keswick was easy, and the local bus service meant we didn't have to walk back! Had a lovely relaxing week and would definitely recommend this cottage.

We absolutely loved Cropple Howe. The cottage is so comfortable and the views utterly stunning. Threlkeld is a beautiful village and very well placed for visiting other parts of the Lake District. There are plenty of local walks to do right from the cottage as well as obviously climbing Blencathra. We did not want to go home and l shall definitely be booking again!
