Lealholme is a well-received cottage in a peaceful village, praised for its comfortable beds, great shower, and proximity to a friendly local pub. The enclosed grass area is appreciated by dog owners, and the location is ideal for exploring Keswick and the Lake District. Some guests noted the property could benefit from a bit of refurbishment and maintenance.
The cottage is generally found to be clean and comfortable by guests. However, one review mentioned a dirty blind, which suggests room for improvement in cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its quiet village setting, proximity to a local pub, and ease of access to Keswick and walking areas. The presence of a farm nearby with occasional smells is noted but does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback on location.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, contributing to a positive rating for comfort. However, some guests experienced issues with heating and the woodburner, which suggests that comfort could be further enhanced.
The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the off-street parking. However, there are several mentions of the need for TLC, a broken blind, and a suggestion for an upgraded TV, indicating that the facilities and maintenance could be improved.
While guests have expressed satisfaction with the amenities provided, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

The cottage is in a lovely little village facing the village green which is visited by a couple of ducks on a daily basis. There is a farm shed next to the cottage and the smell from it was quite bad some days. Not sure I’d want to sit outside even if the weather was good. The village is quiet overall with the exception of farm vehicles and those of locals. There is a lovely, friendly pub (The Sun Inn) a few minutes walk away and Bassenthwaite Station (cafe on an old steam train) a few minutes drive away and both are fully recommended. You do need to book both as they are popular. The cottage itself is comfortable but really needs some TLC. The blind in one bedroom was broken and very dirty and most rooms had noticeable damp and damaged paintwork. The heating was very intermittent going off quite early during the day and in the evening. There is a woodburner in the living room but we struggled to get it to stay lit. The driveway is very narrow. We just managed to get our car through the gates. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and the shower was amazing.
