Friends and families will love the village location of this charming, characterful cottage in tranquil Uldale. With plenty of walking and cycling routes from your doorstep, outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice. Nestled amongst the northern fells of the Lake District National Park, you can immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the area with leisurely strolls or more challenging hikes, before rewarding yourselves with a treat in one of the National Park’s many tea rooms or pubs, including those in Uldale itself.
With the perfect blend of original and contemporary features, exposed beams and stone walls reflect the cottage’s heritage while light tones and mod-cons bring it into the 21st century. On the ground floor, you’ll find a bright, airy and cosy lounge with a roaring wood burner to gather round of an evening. There’s also a light and spacious kitchen/diner. The two bedrooms are upstairs with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. A family shower room completes the inside accommodation. Outside, a small seating area to the front offers somewhere to sit and watch the world go by.
Located in the area known as Back O’Skiddaw, keen walkers can venture to the summit of Skiddaw itself (10 miles), or other well-known fells such as Blencathra and Catbells (both within 17 miles). Others may prefer the gentler ascent of nearby Binsey or Great Calva. Your nearest lake is Bassenthwaite Lake (6 miles) with its wetlands nature reserve and nesting ospreys, as well as the Orient Express train at Bassenthwaite Lake Station, and the local gin distillery. Kids both young and old will enjoy the activities on offer at Whinlatter Forest Park (13.5 miles). On the banks of Derwentwater, Keswick is only 12 miles away, with its range of shops, eateries and outdoor activities.
