Located in Grisedale Bridge, at the southern tip of Ullswater, this charming cottage occupies a perfect position between the village of Glenridding and Patterdale. The famous Ullswater steamers leave from Glenridding pier, which is just a short stroll from the cottage, while a walk along the lake shore is a wonderful way to enjoy the scenery. This area is one of the Lake District’s most idyllic, and Ullswater itself considered to be the jewel in its crown.

Old Cop Shop Cottage is, as one might expect, converted from the old police station. Private parking for 2 cars just outside the door is real bonus, especially if travelling with young children and a pet. The cottage’s cosy sitting room has wooden floors and the most comfortable seating around a fireplace with woodburning stove. Bliss. The kitchen/dining room, with its lovely views over the front garden and fells, is a pretty space with everything needed to conjure up family breakfasts and delicious feasts, and the dining table is a wonderful spot to sit and chat. A rear door leads out to the patio with garden furniture and store. Upstairs offer views of Ullswater, with a king size room and a twin sharing the generous bathroom with shower over the bath, basin and wc.

Just 10 minutes from the cottage is the village of Glenridding, with Patterdale being 10 minutes in the opposite direction. With a pub and shops close by, Old Cop Shop Cottage is perfect for those wishing to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Ullswater valley with its pretty villages and walks.

Glenridding is a wonderful lakeside village, hugging the southern edge of Ullswater in the wondrous Lake District National Park. It offers the essentials of a convenience store, a café and a selection of characterful pubs. Some of the pubs overlook the picturesque Ullswater lake where you can try your hand at some exhilarating outdoor pursuits, or perhaps take a soothing cruise on one of the Ullswater Steamers. The area is popular with mountain walkers as there are seemingly endless opportunities nearby, above the village sits the Greenside Mine, this 18th century lead mine is the reason for the maintaining of the village's economy. There is much to do close by, with the wonderful twin towns of Bowness and Windermere just over 12 miles away, offering something to suit every age, taste and ability.
