Overall we really enjoyed the lodge we were staying in, we were there for one week (friday-friday). The lodge was very comfortable, ALWAYS warm which was nice because the weather was not always on our side. The lodge has a very good heating system which has a thermostat for adjusting, never felt uncomfortably warm or cold in there. We made an effort to cook/make decent meals whilst there as we needed the energy for all the walking, the kitchen was ideal for this, however there was one small issue we had; namely the kitchen knives were very blunt, which made cutting anything quite a chore. Other than that, we couldn't find Salt/pepper on our arrival (which we'd not thought of) and a quick walk to reception solved that as the caretakers found us some in the storeroom. The things that WERE provided were excellent; dishwasher, oven, induction plate stove top, fridge (small but enough for two people with a tiny freezer section at the top). One of the best features of this lodge was definitely the Hot Tub, which we used daily (sometimes twice) after a trip out. Extremely easy to use - Shower before to avoid getting it dirty, lift the lid back (which was very simple) and hop in. The Hot Tub was looked after and maintained almost daily (occasionally we saw someone come and check on it whilst we were at the lodge.) A few times we got a very nice view whilst relaxing in the Hot Tub, which we often did at night. The stars were out several times and made the experience all the better. Would definitely recommend getting a lodging with a Hot Tub if you're coming to this area, was excellent after nearly killing ourselves climbing a mountain or a 4 hour walk in torrential rain. Bed was very comfy, EXTREMELY soft which might be a put-off for some but we really enjoyed it. Bathroom was well equipped, shower was large and efficient, very new looking. Towels provided (one big and small per person, plus hand towel. May need washing if you're staying more than a few days, the site has a washing/drying machine available at the reception.) Living room very spacious, big 4k TV on the wall with freeview and every TV app you can think of, so if you have those you can log in on the tv and watch whatever you like, just remember to log out before you go as we found multiple previous lodgers had NOT and were still logged in! :) We had brought a laptop and HDMI cable to hook up to the tv, but the TV already had a HDMI cable in it, presumably for this same reason? (or someone forgot it!) We were also surprised by the Bose bluetooth speaker which was by the TV and quite nice for listening to music when we were relaxing. Sofas were nice but not very comfortable, a bit hard to sit on, especially after walking ourselves ragged. Large dining room table was nice, table mats and coasters all provided (with cute animals on them!)

Beautiful lodge. My only fault, could do with a blind in the bathroom.
