Guests consistently praise the property for its prime location, high-quality fixtures, and family-friendly amenities such as a games room with a pool table. The well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds are frequently mentioned, alongside the convenience of nearby lake Windermere and Ambleside. Some guests noted the garden could be better maintained and the heating system was occasionally challenging to adjust.
The property is generally described as clean and well-maintained, though a few guests noted areas where cleaning could be more thorough, such as behind sofa cushions and the vacuum cleaner being full. The presence of dog waste in the garden was mentioned, suggesting occasional oversight in outdoor maintenance.
The location is highly commended for its proximity to Lake Windermere, Ambleside, and local amenities. Guests appreciate the easy access to walks, restaurants, and the convenience for exploring the Lake District, making it an ideal base for holidays.
Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the quality of the beds and the underfloor heating. However, some guests found the sofas low and uncomfortable, and there were comments about the master bedroom being too hot, which slightly affected the comfort score.
Facilities such as the kitchen equipment, pool table, and dog-friendly features are well-received. Criticisms include the complexity of the heating controls, the need for more wine glasses, and the state of the garden. The presence of a games room and practical amenities like boot dryers are appreciated.
Guests mention thoughtful touches like a picnic bag, flask, and a Bose speaker, enhancing their stay. A Fortnum & Mason hamper was a delightful surprise for one guest during the festive season. However, it's important to note that such gifts are thoughtful gestures and may not be a standard offering for all stays.

There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes.
