There's no need to bring the car, as there are excellent bus and train links close at hand, as well as many cycling and walking routes in the Kentmere Valley, if you're feeling active.

Lovers of the outdoors can enjoy easy access to the Fells for walking, or for a more relaxing trip you can make the short journey into Windermere Village where you can enjoy an array of shops and restaurants. Or why not head for Staveley Mill Yard where you can enjoy the food and drink at Hawskhead Brewery, take a cookery class or treat yourself to a scoop or three at the ice cream parlour.
