Beckfold Cottage is a well-furnished, cosy retreat in the stunning and peaceful Duddon Valley, with a pub next door adding to its charm. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and dog-friendly touches. The garden offers beautiful views and a secure space for pets. While some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment amidst beautiful surroundings.
Most guests found the cottage to be comfortable and tidy, with some noting it was clean and warm upon arrival. However, there were mentions of dust and mould, and a need for deeper cleaning in certain areas, which suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with stunning views and numerous walks right from the doorstep. The proximity to a friendly local pub is frequently mentioned as a positive aspect, though the remoteness may not suit everyone.
Guests consistently report that the beds are very comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the log burner. Some guests mentioned issues with uneven floors and heating control, but these were not widespread concerns.
The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests appreciate the inclusion of Wi-Fi and a smart TV. However, there are comments about the need for updates, and some maintenance issues like shower pressure and heating problems were noted.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the provision of detailed information, dog-friendly amenities, and a well-stocked kitchen. While gifts are not guaranteed, the effort to make guests feel at home is clear and appreciated.
