Guests say

Hillside is a well-furnished, spacious cottage with a beautiful garden, located in the heart of Broughton-in-Furness. Guests appreciate the local amenities, cleanliness, and the welcoming touches. While some mention the lack of Wi-Fi and issues with the games room, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The property is consistently described as clean and tidy, with crisp white bedding and well-maintained garden. Only a few minor issues like a bath mat and glasses were noted, suggesting high standards of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, with local shops, pubs, and walks right on the doorstep. The village setting and proximity to the Lake District make it an ideal base for exploring.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and spacious rooms. However, some guests noted the mattresses could be improved, and the lack of Wi-Fi affected comfort for those needing connectivity.

The facilities are generally good, but several reviews highlight issues with the games room and lack of Wi-Fi. The garden and fireplaces are appreciated, but the need for maintenance in some areas is evident.

Guests mention welcome touches like Christmas decorations and a welcome pack, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

Great location. Nice village. Nice people. Good dog walking with public footpath 50 yards away. The garden was well kept and nice garden table that catches the evening sun. This is a large property with generously sized rooms. Now the more iffy issues: The property although clean, needs some TLC. More crockery is required. There are no cups and only four mugs for a property sleeping eight. The hall flooring needs replacing. The laminate is delaminating and lifting in places. The lighting in most rooms is inadequate with only a central light in most rooms. The one reading lamp in the lounge wasn’t working.

Window in onsuite bedroom would not open giving no means of escape ! There was no cleaning spray ,a lack of mugs and no milk as stated. Snooker room was full of cobwebs and unplayable. Overall disappointing.
