Guests say

The Station Masters House in Coniston is a well-loved, comfortable cottage with historical charm and a secure garden. Guests appreciate its peaceful location, ideal for walks and local attractions, with a dog-friendly pub serving good food nearby. While some guests noted cleaning issues, the property's overall appeal, including thoughtful touches and a well-equipped space, makes it a favoured choice for a Lake District getaway.

Several reviews mention cleanliness concerns, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom, suggesting room for improvement. However, the property was also described as clean and well-maintained by some, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to local walks, fells, and attractions like the John Ruskin museum. The availability of a local bus service and a pub across the road adds to the convenience.

Guests find the cottage comfy and warm, with a secure garden and a cosy atmosphere. However, there is a mention of low settees causing discomfort for a guest with mobility issues.

The cottage is described as well-equipped and thoughtfully laid out, with a lovely garden. Some guests noted the need for maintenance, such as a repaint and attention to overgrown hedges, and a narrow drive.

Guests are pleased with the thoughtful touches provided, such as shampoo and conditioner, and games for entertainment. While gifts are not explicitly mentioned, the attention to detail contributes to a home-from-home experience, though it's noted that such extras are not guaranteed.

A building with a lot of history to it. The access is difficult but manageable. Well located for dog walking with a footpath along the old railway line at the rear. The pub opposite is well used and serves good food.

Pleasant cottage in a lovely, peaceful area. Ideal spot for a base! Host super lovely with loads of good information. The drive is so narrow and the hedges and plants need seeing to as they are overgrown and cottage could do with a repaint inside and a good clean. Still a nice place for the week. Lovely pub across the road.
