A lovely little traditional cottage in the heart of Ambleside. Don't be put off by the parking - the on street is rarely too busy after 6pm or until 12 noon so plenty of time if you're out for the day, or the large car park by the church is perfect short walk away. The kitchen had everything you could need - microwave, oven, decent cutting knives and chopping boards, plenty of cups and even a couple of thermos mugs and a cafetiere. There's a Tesco local just up the road or a coop 5 minutes walk away. The bed was comfortable and the bedrooms are both decent with good storage. It's definitely cosy - but wonderful for it! We would absolutely recommend to friends and family looking for a perfect bolthole in the middle of the lake district.

Lovely little cottage. Everything you need apart from parking! On arrival we read the letter on the table stating that you could only park outside the cottage for 1hr. This caused stress as we didn't know where to park. We spent a while on the internet finding carparks in Ambleside that did overnight. Eventually, we found one close by and had to pay £41.80 to park for 1 week in Lake Road car park, a very small car park so waiting for a space was hours!! This was not made clear before we booked. Had we known we would have been prepared. Other than that, the holiday cottage was lovely.
