A less than 5-minute steep walk down Peggy Hill brings you to the centre of Ambleside where there are many cafes, restaurants, shops and two cinemas. Wansfell and Red Screes are nearby, and walks can be enjoyed from the door. Many bus routes radiate from Ambleside including frequent services to Windermere, Kendal and Lancaster, the 516 to Elterwater and Dungeon Ghyll, the 555 to Grasmere and Keswick, and the Coniston Rambler to Hawkshead and Coniston.

The accommodation was in an ideal location with parking but the cleanliness of the accommodation was poor. The apartment needed a really good clean.

I had a lovely week staying in this property. The flat was very clean and comfortable was all on the ground floor so no stairs! The parking space for my car was directly outside the front door which made it very easy when unloading/loading my car. Great location just above the town and the best 2 pubs in Ambleside just a short walk down the road.

Great location very close to the town center, although it is up a steep hill.I used the buses most days, as there is an excellent connections to the Langdales, Coniston, Grassmere and other parts of the central lake district.The only drawback of Ambleside is that there is no large supermarket, only small tesco and co-op stores.
