In the village is the National Trust Townend House & Garden, for a quintessential trip back in time to how the Farming family of the Brownes lived, and a lovely local church. There is also a small local shop serving coffee and bakery.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass.
