Just five miles from the famous town of Windemere, Staveley is truly in the heart of the Lakelands. This charming village is just a stone’s throw from the borders of the Lake District National Park and offers wonderful and scenic opportunities for walkers, cyclists and nature enthusiasts. The village itself is well-served by a number of shops, a trio of pubs and a railway station, offering relaxing rides through the surrounding countryside. Nearby attractions include the famous Lake Windemere, where you can soak up the spectacular panorama from a boat or take a ferry trip to the Lakeside Aquarium or the Grizedale Forest Park. Ambleside, the centre of English mountaineering, is also close by offering visitors the chance to go climbing.

We had a few minor queries when we arrived but the owner popped in and we mentioned them and they were sorted instantly which was very impressive. All in all though a great holiday let.

Beds not very comfortable. Furniture seating seems very tired and worn. Didnât see any mention of there being other people adjoining and shared patio, when booking. No welcome pack here, all our previous properties have had welcome pack. Cobwebs. No salt and pepper etc. Pans are no longer non-stick. After booking with Sykes for many years and many properties, this was not up to our normal standards.

The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. Absolutely loved the situation with the beaitiful views. Oh, and for anybody else staying, I'd recommend a walk down into the village with a coffee at Duffins - best coffee of the holiday
