Deep in the Lakes and with direct access to wonderfully scenic trails, this charming holiday home makes a wonderful escape for a couple or solo traveller. Nearby, you can admire Aira Force waterfalls (4.5 miles), part of the Ullswater Way, or climb up Little Mell Fell (1 mile) and Gowbarrow Fell (2.5 miles), two of the Lake District’s 214 Wainwrights. The accommodation itself is cosy and homely and welcomes two doggie guests and two humans.
Entry is via a glass door and into a comfy living area complete with a TV. The ceiling, propped up by lovely thick ceiling beams, is gently sloped, and tastefully chosen artwork adorns the walls. In the adjoining kitchen, complete with glossy white tiles, grey units and wooden worktops, you’ll have everything you need for prepping cooked breakfasts and hearty evening meals. When it’s time to retire for the night, the spacious king-size bedroom awaits, with an en-suite bathroom providing comfort and convenience. Out the front, there’s a pleasant seating area with furniture and a fire pit so you can enjoy lunch in the fresh air, surrounded by splendid views.
You’ll have a lovely local pub serving up local ales just 1 mile from the cottage, while a 3-mile journey takes you to the vibrant village of Pooley Bridge. Here you can sip a leisurely coffee in a riverside café and browse the independent shops for gifts and souvenirs. Just 7 miles away, marvel at impressive views of Helvellyn, England's third highest peak, and its surrounding fells. You may also choose to experience Ullswater’s beauty from the water, with a steamer trip across to Howtown (7 miles away by road), home to a quaint tea room for enjoying a well-deserved cuppa.
