Inside the lodge was just about everything you could need. Very peaceful relaxing setting, loved watching the bunnies hopping around in the evening. The garden is enclosed, was a little worried our two dogs would get through the gate slats as they are little dogs but they didn’t but it did make me a little on edge when they were out of sight. A bit of wire mesh along the bottom would be a great idea. The outside looked a little shabby because of the cobwebs but a jet wash would fix that. All in all a wonderful weeks rest.

We have loved our week here! The lodge was immaculate, perfectly organised and had everything a family could need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The enclosed garden was safe for our cocker spaniel and youngest daughter to play in with the added bonus of Ulswater Lake being less than 10 minutes away for water sports.

Glendowlin Lodge Retreat is a beautiful lodge, extremely well kept, clean and caters for all my needs and more. The facilites are to a high standard and certainly made me feel home from home. It is in a perfect location with amazing views all around, so quiet and peaceful with no passing traffic. The property has a beautiful garden which is fully enclosed so that my dog could enjoy his holiday as well, and the local wildlife (Rabbits, Birds, Sheep, Horses) are a pleasure to watch throughout the relaxing days.Plenty of places to visit locally, (Penrith, Pooley Bridge, Ullswater) however we stayed mostly at the lodge and enjoyed the short local walks.
