Hovera, meaning eight in Cumbrian sheep counting, is a modern terraced property found in the popular village of Glenridding, on the south shores of Ullswater. On the ground floor there is an open kitchen/dining room with all the mod cons and comfort levels that you would expect. With a sun room and separate living room, with comfy seating around the large wood burner and views of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, you will find it difficult to tear yourself out of these rooms. On the first floor is a large twin bedroom, which can be made into a super kingsize on request, also boasting great views. The bathroom is also on the floor with a bath and separate large shower. The second floor takes you to a double bedroom with a kingsize bed.
If your ideal holiday involves walking or cycling then you are already on the path to one of the Lake District National Park’s most famous peaks, Helvellyn. Alternatively, you can enjoy the picturesque views directly from your front door. You only need to walk outside Hovera to be on a popular walking route, but as the property is also situated in Glenridding, you are also just a short drive from Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside if you fancy taking in the local shops, pubs and cafés. Shop and restaurant 400 yards, pub 200 yards.

We had a brilliant week at Hovera. The cottage is in an excellent location near to Glenridding Dodd and with the fells on the doorstep. Glenridding is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The cottage itself is very comfortable and was ideal for our family of 4, with two young children.Our only suggestion for improvement would be a couple of door stops for the fire doors. Although we appreciate that fire safety is paramount, the doors are too heavy for children to open, so can make things difficult during the day.

Fabulous location for scenery, walking and water sports Nice tidy cottage, comfortable and well equipped. Good for 3 of us, might have felt a bit small for 4. Wonderful views to wake up to each morning, we had a great time
