the village, Moss Crag is a bright and welcoming Lakeland home, perfectly placed for exploring the Ullswater valley and Helvellyn range. With seven bedrooms set over three floors, a sociable dining space, two lounge areas and thoughtful touches throughout, it’s a fantastic choice for families or friends looking to enjoy time together in one of the most beautiful corners of the Lake District. Inside, the house is bright and simple in style, with a focus on comfort and practicality. The kitchen is compact but modern and well equipped, making it easy to whip up everything from quick breakfasts to relaxed evening meals. A spacious utility room sits just off the kitchen, with a washer/dryer, sink, and dedicated drying area, perfect for muddy boots and wet coats after a day on the fells or by the lake. The dining room seats fourteen around a large table, making it a great place to gather, eat, chat, and plan your next adventure. After dinner, you can unwind in the sitting room with its TV and log burner, or head into the second lounge, which offers a selection of board games and books, ideal for rainy days or quieter moments. Bedrooms are spread out across several floors to offer flexibility and comfort for everyone in your group: On the first floor, there’s a super king-size bedroom with an en-suite (walk-in shower, basin and WC), a king bedroom also with an en-suite, and one bedroom with a large bunk bed sleeping 2 people perfect for adults sharing or children who want a room of their own. On this floor, there is also the family bathroom, which includes a bath, basin, and WC. On the second floor, you’ll find another king-size bedroom and a double bedroom both with an en-suite (walk-in shower, basin and WC) and another bedroom with a large bunk bed sleeping 2 people. At the back of the house on a separate landing, another super king bedroom can be found on the first floor, with a downstairs bathroom. Outside, the house has a small, natural garden with steps leading up to a raised area, an ideal spot for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Enjoy glimpses of the surrounding hills from the house, especially from the upper floors, where you can look out over the river and rooftops of Glenridding. You’re only a 2-minute walk from The Ramblers Bar, a friendly local serving homecooked pub classics and a great selection of drinks. For something a little more special, The Inn on the Lake is just a short walk away too, offering everything from casual lunches to more formal dining with lake views. Don't fancy cooking breakfast? The Inn on the Lake are happy to welcome you for morning coffees, pastries or a full English. Step outside and you’re at the foot of some of the Lake District’s most iconic landscapes. Whether you’re setting off on the route to Striding Edge and Helvellyn, heading for a waterside walk along Ullswater, or visiting the nearby Aira Force waterfall, adventure is never far away. Glenridding is a wonderful lakeside village, hugging the southern edge of Ullswater in the wondrous Lake District National Park. It offers the essentials of a convenience store, a café and a selection of characterful pubs. Some of the pubs overlook the picturesque Ullswater lake where you can try your hand at some exhilarating outdoor pursuits, or perhaps take a soothing cruise on one of the Ullswater Steamers. Spend the day in Grasmere where you can tour Wordsworth Grasmere, the stunning former cottage of William Wordsworth, or alternatively travel to Windermere, home to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Orrest Head Viewpoint and Holehird Gardens; Ambleside is within easy reach from here and boasts Beatrix Potter's former home at Hill Top, a popular attraction all year round. There is much to do close by, with the wonderful towns of Hawkshead and Keswick within accessible reach by car, offering something to suit every age, taste and ability including Keswick Museum, Puzzling Place, Derwent Pencil Museum, in addition to a wealth of pubs, restaurants and shops where you can treat your loved ones.
