This little flat was in an amazing location. The gardens were stunning which lead down to the jetty on Ullswater itself.The views were spectacular rain or shine. Rabbits running freely was a delight.Fab location to Pooley Bridge which is a delightful little place with lovely little shops and plenty of places to eat! The flat was comfortable although dated but the only issue was the damp smell in the bedroom. It was very strong to the point I had to wash all my clothes when I got home due to the smell! There is no window in the bedroom and with the bath/shower been in the room I suspect the dampness comes from everyone showering and bathing!

The house is not visible from the road when approaching from Pooley Bridge so look for sign on the left to 'Another Place, The Lake'. Building work in progres we were not told about (new roof). Heating not turned on and cold water on arrival. Told we needed to turn on the Immersion an hour before we want hot water. No window in toilet and bedroom but the shower is in the bedroom. Place was damp, clothes hanging in wardrobe got damp. The saucepan and washing up bowl strategically placed suggested a problem wit and the floor from the living room to the bedroom is rotten in places as the floor is spongy. Generally, the whole place was probably, once, spectacular but is now badly in need of refurbishment. Carpets are grubby, some of the blankets and throws smell of dog (we don't have a dog so maybe more sensitive). The final insult was when the roofers managed to cut the TV aerial cable on Tuesday so no TV available. We left on Wednesday morning, not prepared to stay any longer.

A great place to stay and enjoy all the Lake District has to offer. Patricia is a lovely host. The lodge has everything you need for a break away. Comfy bed, cooking space and plenty of space to relax. The location is amazing! Beautiful grounds that lead directly onto the lake.
